The two sides met on Sunday night, with seventh-ranked Pateadores SC hosting unbeaten FC Takwaba with a record of 4-0-0.
FC Takwaba battled on Sunday afternoon but was able to stay on top of the game and win 3:2. The team’s starting line-up included some changes compared to its last game. Once again, goalie Joseph Geletko replaced Jimmy Crawford in a great manner. Also, the team’s defensive boss, Gareth Tomlinson, was not able to play due to “tons of homework”, which forced Sven Simon to experiment a little bit.
The game started with more possession on FC Takwaba’s side with its typical short passing style. After a few 100% chances, Dana Yoshizu finally put the ball in the back of the net. High pressure forced a Pateadores defender to lose the ball. Sven Simon picked up the ball and passed it to Yoshizu who then scored. The second goal was right before the half-time whistle. This time, Davis Paul played a long ball to Simon who sprinted straight towards goal and toe-poked it in the far right corner to make the game 2:0. After Pateadores first goal (2:1), Takwaba struggled taking control over the game. However, in the 70th min Davis Paul’s terrific shot from 25 yards ended up in the upper vie. Takwaba, now got control over the game again and moved the ball well, which resulted in several chances. However, in the last minute of the game, the hosting team scored another goal to make the final result 3:2.
FC Takwaba now got 15 points out of 5 games, dedicated to stay unbeaten.
